University of Nottingham

You can study Slovene at the University of Nottingham, School of Modern Languages, Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies, where Slovene has been taught uninterruptedly since 1974. Various courses are aimed at full-time and part-time students alike, who can study the language for either one, two or three years. Due to the ERASMUS student exchange programme, there is the opportunity for a student of Slovene to receive a grant and spend part of their academic year in Slovenia at The University of Ljubljana, where they can further perfect their Slovene.

University of Nottingham in conjunction with Centre for Russian and East European Studies [CRCEES] offers Postgraduate Diplomas for beginners in Slovene. These 9-month full-time diplomas offer intensive language training for beginners in Slovene. They are designed as a preparation for research into this area of South-East Europe and target particularly reading and communication skills.
